Sharing a film you just logged on Letterboxd used to mean a screenshot and some cropping. Storyboxd builds a clean, styled story image from your activity instead, and it ships on Android through Google Play as well as the web.

The interesting part came later. Letterboxd put Cloudflare bot protection in front of its pages, and every plain fetch started failing. Scraping moved to a headless browser, which works, costs more, and taught me a lot about being a polite guest on someone else's site.

Watch Later is where good videos go to be forgotten. Dockyt lets you drag them into folders and keeps everything in your browser. No server, no sign-up.

One constraint shaped all of it: YouTube's API doesn't expose the Watch Later playlist. So a small Chrome extension reads the playlist page you're already signed into and hands it to the app.

Started in April 2021 as "just another Twitter clone" and kept growing: posts, likes, follows, search, real-time updates, a test suite and a Docker setup. It went through several redesigns, each one teaching me something the last one got wrong.

Lights out and away we go. You get a track's outline, you name the circuit. Harder than it sounds once you're past Monaco.

Upload an image, get Chandler Bing holding it like a record he loves. That's it. That's the app.
