About me

I'm Samip, a software engineer and designer in Kathmandu. I like building small things that solve one annoying problem properly.

I started the way most people do: tutorials, clones, a weather app, a calculator with a dark mode. Somewhere along the way I stopped trying to prove I could build things and started caring about how they feel to use. Now most of my time goes into the gap between "it works" and "it's nice", which is where the interesting problems are.

I design as much as I code, usually in the same afternoon. This site is a good example: the type, the layout and the code were worked out together, and each one shaped the others.
